The First Season of this series aired back in 2019 with just eight episodes. Since then, this Romantic Drama series has successfully made many fans. However, all good things won’t last for long. It is the same for this series also, unfortunately. After airing the first season, there was no confirmation regarding the second installment of the series. Writer Andrew Davis hasn’t given any guarantees regarding the Sanditon Season 2.
Andrew’s opinion is essential, as he will be taking the story from where Jane Austin’s left. Since this novel is incomplete, there is a pretty good pressure upon Andrew Davis for maintaining the essence of Jane’s writing while not disappointing the fans.
What was the story of Charlotte Heywood and Sidney Parker till now?
As we have mentioned before, this series’s story has adapted from the legendary writer Jane Austin’s unfinished manuscript Sanditon. Due to illness, She couldn’t complete the novel. The storyline revolves around Charlotte Heywood (played by Rose Williams) and Sidney Parker (Theo James). This show takes the viewers through the romantic relationship buildup between Charlotte and Sidney. Even Though misunderstandings and insecurities affected their relationship, they didn’t give up and work on their flaws.
However, this beautiful love story got a heartbreaking collapse towards the end of the first season as the Parker family successfully conspiracies to Sydney to leave Charlotte. We need to wait for another season to see how their story has gone after this. Alongside the lead cast, Kate Ashfield, Crystal Clarke, Chris Marshall, Turlough Convery, and Jack Fox have also played their roles as Mary Parker, Mary Parker, Tom Parker, Arthur Parker, and Sir Edward Denham, respectively.

Will there be a Sanditon Season 2?
Both the producers, Red Planet Pictures and ITV, where the series was initially released, haven’t confirmed anything regarding season two. At the same time, there are also rumors claiming that ITV has canceled the show. Stories such as this made worried fans start the #SaveSandition Campaign for the second season. The petition on Change.org has already gained more than 80000 signatures. This campaign got more attention when the streaming service Amazon Prime Video also tweeted regarding exploring the show’s chances to make a comeback.
#SaveSanditon Squad, we hear you and weβre doing what we can. Please could you retweet this to let us know how many of you there are so we can make a case for a new season? P.S. Donβt use multiple accounts or weβll get in trouble pic.twitter.com/FBfyfG87kb

If everything goes well, we could expect season two to come out by the end of 2021. The year 2020 was mostly affected by the pandemic and followed by lockdown in various parts; many movies and series production and release were affected. We still don’t know if the production house and the cast members, alongside the director and writer, have agreed to a second season or not or have begun producing the show. So a late 2021 release seems appropriate.

What do you think? Will this Romantic drama series could make a possible comeback? Will the writers keep up with Jane Austine’s standards if they are continuing from where they left? As one of the streaming partners, AmaonPrime video has accepted that they would like to see a second season for this series, there is still a ray of hope.
Yes we need a season 2 ππ
Now that Bridgerton has screened successfully showing there is an audience for Regency romance let Sanditon have its turn to end off as it should have! Come on Netflix pick it up because the original producers are so dimwitted to see how even after two years fans are incensed and want it to be completed properly. Come on Theo James and Rose Williams make an effort to push it along! While I am at it… Beecham House was left up in the air too! What a pain! How about we end that one too? Julia Quinn thank you for your work and giving us this wonderful series…more please I have read all your Bridgerton books and await the follow up stories with anticipation…a suggestion Tessa Dare, Anne Gracie and Eloisa James some authors to consider too!
I agree we absolutely need season 2. There needs that be a happy ending for Charlotte and Sidney. It is otherwise tragic and the ending mars a beautiful story.
I think there should be a second season of Sanditon. Fans deserve loose ends to be tied up don’t you think?
