Will there be a His Dark Materials Season 3?
After doing a commendable job in bringing the first two books of the series to life, HBO has announced that the fantasy show will be renewed for a third season. And will portray the story of the final novel in the series, “The Amber Spyglass.”
By the end of Season 2, Asriel is trying to build an army, for which he requires the Subtle Knife currently in possession of Will. Lyra was prophesized of being Eve, and therefore to save humanity, Mrs. Coulter has captured her. We will even learn more about the angels, as well as being taken to new worlds, including the Land of the Dead and a world of elephant-like creatures known as the mulefa. All of our questions regarding Season 2 will be answered when Season 3 finally arrives.
Season 3: When can we expect it?
Both Season One and Two of the show were aired in November of 2019 and 2020, respectively. But by the looks of it, we won’t be seeing Season 3 in 2021 as BBC announced that the filming was to begin in Cardiff next year. This was backed up by an interview with the screenwriter, Jack Thorne, speaking to The Guardian. At the beginning of December, he said that he was rewriting the script to push ahead. This was so as to get ready for filming in the summer of 2021, ruling out a November 2021 release.
