Fans of Coronation Street may have to say goodbye to some favorite characters in upcoming episodes.
The popular ITV soap has revealed that a deadly explosion will rock the street next week, with a huge fire devastating the Platts’ home.
The fire is expected to destroy not only the building but also impact the lives of David and Shona’s family and their loved ones.
In a surprising twist, it’s revealed the fire was caused by arson. Soon, everyone on the street becomes a suspect as they try to prove their innocence to the police.
These dramatic scenes are set to air on Monday, 3 February, showing people trapped inside, with no sign of Toyah Battersby or the children. This leads Nick Tilsley, Shona, and Max Turner to risk their lives by running into the flames. Will they survive when a massive explosion shakes the street?
This comes after Max actor Paddy Bever announced he has left the show and filmed his last scenes. Could his character be killed in the fire?
During these intense moments, several residents are at the Bistro celebrating Sarah’s birthday. However, Hope, Ruby, Lily, and Sam, uninterested in the adult party, sneak into number 8 and start live streaming a seance.

Toyah notices the stream and, seeing matches in the video, rushes to stop the children and send them out.
Meanwhile, Abi Webster seeks revenge after discovering that Toyah reported her to social services. She storms into number 8 to confront Toyah, but during a PTSD episode, she attacks Toyah, leaving her unconscious before fleeing. Could she have returned to start the fire as a cover-up?
On the street, a drunk Leanne Battersby is seen wandering around, feeling angry and alone. Could she be the one who started the fire?
Another possible suspect is David Platt. With his ongoing feud with gang leader Harvey, could he be behind the blaze? Or has David taken drastic actions to get insurance money to pay Harvey back for the money he owes?
