Who is Nick Martin? All About Katie Maloney’s New Boyfriend

Katie Maloney has found love again. The former Vanderpump Rules star hinted at being in a new relationship on her podcast in October 2024, but it wasn’t until December that she confirmed she was dating Nick Martin through an Instagram Stories post to celebrate his birthday.

While this was the first time she revealed his identity, Maloney’s former co-star Scheana Shay accidentally let it slip who she was dating during her podcast Scheananigans in October, one week after Maloney had first mentioned she was seeing someone.

“We were all by the artists’ trailers in the hangout area, and he and Katie were walking up while I was standing at the taco truck in line getting food. I said hi to her, she introduced me to her boyfriend,” Shay said. “Let me tell you, he could not have been nicer.”

She went on, “I caught the end of their set. We actually left Fall Out Boy a little early because they were playing at the same time. But I wanted to check out Sleeping With Sirens,” referring to Martin’s band.

Maloney’s new relationship comes almost a year after she told PEOPLE in January 2024 that she was “single” and “ready to mingle” following her 2022 divorce from Tom Schwartz. She mentioned that she had been feeling “really good” about her romantic life and was “ready to meet someone if they came along.”

So who is Katie Maloney’s boyfriend?

In an August 2023 appearance on Emo’s Not Dead, Martin mentioned that he grew up in San Diego. He spent most of his life in private schools until he moved to a public school for his junior and senior years.

“Once I got into high school, all I thought about was music and being in a band,” he said. “I was just ready to get out of school, go home so I could play guitar or I could just go to band practice. That’s all I wanted to do.”

A few months before that, he shared in a February 2023 interview with Skratch ‘N Sniff that he grew up in a music-centered home, saying his dad had the “biggest record collection of anyone I’ve ever met in my life.”

“One of my most important memories growing up is listening to literally everything. Classical music. Rock music. My dad got me into punk music,” Martin said. “And then from my mom’s side … she’s Hispanic, so I grew up on Mariachi music and Cumbias and that influenced the h— out of me, too.”

“I figured out early on in my life that I loved all types of music. I was a very eclectic listener and was digesting, but also dissecting songs at a really young age,” he added.

According to his Instagram bio, Martin currently lives in Los Angeles.

He is a guitarist

Almost ten years ago, Martin became a guitarist for the rock band Sleeping With Sirens. They have gone on tours both in other countries and in the U.S., and have performed at music festivals like Welcome to Rockville and When We Were Young Festival. They are now set to tour with the rock band Pierce The Veil in 2025.

“I love my band. I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by awesome dudes who inspire & support me everyday and never make this feel like a job,” Martin wrote on Instagram in July 2022. “I love each of these dudes like a brother & I can never thank them enough for being a part of my life.”

Along with his music career, Martin also started an at-home cold brew coffee business called Charlie Royal in February 2022.

Maloney shared the news in October

Maloney shared that she had a new relationship in her life on an October 2024 episode of her Disrespectfully podcast. Her cohost (and former Vanderpump Rules costar) Dayna Kathan asked if Maloney had any life updates, and she responded, “So, I have a boyfriend.”

“Yeah, I’m in love, everybody,” Maloney continued. “I’m just really, really happy.”

She mentioned that she had recently gotten to “spend some time” with him because he travels for work.

“It was really amazing ’cause I hadn’t seen him in a few weeks and just being able to, like, spend some quality time and just be around him was really necessary and really nice,” Maloney said. “I had a really good time.”

Maloney officially shared their relationship on Dec. 10, when she posted a photo on her Instagram Stories of them looking into each other’s eyes at Martin’s birthday dinner.

“Happy Birthday my !!!!!” she wrote.

Martin then shared the tribute on his own Instagram Stories, writing, “Our Casa Vega Xmas Card ,” referring to the Los Angeles restaurant where they seemed to have been on a dinner date.
