Not all the contestants on Love Is Blind showed they could find their perfect match without seeing them, but they sure brought a lot of drama while trying.
After the success of season 1, the Netflix series came back in February 2022 and created six new couples: Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee and Deepti Vempati, Kyle Abrams and Shaina Hurley, Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones, Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson, Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen, and Mallory Zapata and Salvador Perez.
By the end of the season, only two couples said “I do” — Iyanna and Jarrette and Danielle and Nick. Even though life after the show had its ups and downs, Danielle and Nick celebrated their first year of marriage in June 2022. Iyanna and Jarrette did the same. Both couples broke up later that year.
Abhishek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee
Shake told Us in March 2022 that he has a girlfriend named Emily Wilson, who lives in Florida.
“We’re having a lot of fun together and we’re very in sync. If it wasn’t for her, I’d still be thinking about Miami, but it just kind of seals the deal, you know what I mean? It’s a sign from above … that this is the right decision,” the “Love Is Blurry” podcast host told Us about his plans to leave Chicago.
Shake also made a change in his career after the show. “I’m taking a break from being a vet. The vet field is amazing in so many ways, but it’s also incredibly draining, both physically and emotionally,” he said. He added that he plans to “pivot into this new, exciting world” of crypto.
Deepti Vempati
While Deepti says she is “indifferent” to her ex Shake, there has been a lot of talk about her and Kyle since the reunion show.
“All I can say is, you know, we’re going through it. We’re just figuring it out,” she told Us exclusively in June 2022. “I think you guys will see more of our story later. [Kyle is] one of my best friends, so that’s all I can say.”
In the final episode of After the Altar, she said she hopes Kyle will be her husband one day. “He’s the first thing I think about when I wake up, he’s the last person I talked to before I go to bed,” she said. “I look at him and I’m like, ‘I could see myself doing this for the rest of my life.’”
However, days after the series, which filmed in March, started streaming, Kyle revealed that they had broken up during the summer.

Kyle kept the talk about his relationship with Deepti going, admitting in March 2022 that he regretted not trying harder for her. “I should have tried harder for [Deepti],” he said. “I love her so much, she’s the best. And I wish I saw what was right in front of me and that’s my biggest regret. I’m sorry.”
After months of rumors, it was revealed during the After the Altar episodes, which aired in September 2022, that Kyle and Deepti had been seeing each other.
Kyle later shared on Instagram that they had split after the production of After the Altar. “We had decided to go our separate ways in early summer,” he wrote in September 2022, mentioning that he had started seeing someone else. “Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey through arduous vulnerability and has supported us along the way.”
Two months later, Kyle made his relationship with Tania Leanos public. The couple got engaged in April 2023.
Shaina Hurley
Shaina went public with her new partner, Christos Lardakis, in March 2022 and announced their engagement in the same month. The couple got married in July 2022 at a courthouse in Chicago, with his daughter as one of the witnesses. They had another wedding ceremony in Greece later that same month.
Shaina shared that she was expecting their first child in September 2023.

Sal told Bustle in March 2022 that he “met someone completely random, and it’s been great,” but he hasn’t shared any details about a new relationship.
Mallory Zapata
Sal and Mal went out after the show, but their connection didn’t last.
“It was really nice to just talk to her. We decided at the end of it all, we had been through everything, we had discussed everything, and I didn’t have it in me to continue romantically, to be completely honest,” Sal told Bustle in March 2022. “And we left it at that. We parted ways. We checked in with each other a couple of times before seeing each other again in the reunion. But, you know, it was just not there.”
Shayne Jansen
He still works in Chicago real estate and made headlines in March 2022 when he showed off his body transformation on Instagram.
Shayne, who seems to be single, said that he and Natalie tried to date several times after the show, but Natalie had a different version of the story.
Natalie Lee
The influencer said she and Shayne only dated “twice” after their wedding and “not four times.” She explained in March 2022: “We rekindled the weekend we filmed the reunion episode but decided to keep the door closed.
Recently we met up to discuss the possibility of reconciliation but agreed not to date until he changed some of his behaviors. A few days later, I fully closed the door for any type of reconciliation after discovering some lies he told me.”

After celebrating one year of marriage in June 2022, the couple decided to part ways, and their divorce was finalized later that year.
In December 2024, Iyanna shared that she was engaged but did not publicly say the name of her new fiancé. “A weekend of surprises, wonder, and happy cries. 
Something sparkly, something special, someone forever. ,” she wrote on Instagram, posting a picture of her and her partner.
Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl
Nick and Danielle, who live in Chicago, were still doing well at first. They told Us in March 2022 that couples therapy helped them improve their communication after the show.
“The couple therapist literally was like, ‘Danielle, you speak French. He speaks German. And when you’re talking to each other, it doesn’t translate. And it takes months, years sometimes, to be able to actually communicate with each other,’” Danielle explained.
“And so the harder we try, the more our therapist is a translator for us, the easier it becomes. And like, even with my anxiety — and we both go through our stresses — one time, I might need to be alone. One time, I might need him to hug me.
And I have to realize, I can’t assume that he is gonna know how to be there for me. I have to verbalize, ‘This is what I need from you right now,’ and be patient with him not completely, always understanding what to do in those situations.”

However, just two months later, they broke up. Danielle filed for divorce in Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois on August 15, 2022.
