90 Day Fiancé Season 2: What Are They Up To Now?

90 Day Fiancé season 2 aired in 2014, and since then, the cast’s lives have changed a lot. The season helped the show become one of the most dramatic reality series on TV. With memorable couples like Mohamed Jbali and Danielle Mullins, season 2 kept viewers hooked.

Since then, 90 Day Fiancé has expanded with over forty spinoffs, and season 9 aired in 2022. Now, it’s a good time to look back at the couples from season 2 who helped make 90 Day Fiancé such a hit. Are any of these couples still together, and how have their lives turned out since season 2?

Chelsea Macek

Chelsea Macek from the U.S. and Yamir Castillo from Nicaragua met in an unusual way when Chelsea saw Yamir perform at a concert. During season 2, they were living with Chelsea’s parents in Illinois. Afterward, they moved to Chicago, where Chelsea found a job at an elementary school, and they got married.

However, Chelsea and Yamir divorced in 2016, mainly due to Yamir not accepting Chelsea’s bisexuality. After the divorce, Chelsea dated a woman until 2017 and then remarried a helicopter mechanic named Daniel Colombo Verni. She now works at a medical marijuana dispensary in Colorado Springs.

Yamir Castillo

Yamir moved to Illinois to be with Chelsea and hoped to continue his music career in the U.S. The couple moved to Chicago despite both being unemployed, which caused tension. They married but divorced in 2016.

As of 2023, Yamir still lives in Chicago and works as a musician. He shared in 90 Day Fiancé Bares All that he and Chelsea still talk to each other regularly. In 2021, Yamir became an American citizen after passing the citizenship test.

Danielle Mullins

Danielle Mullins from Ohio and her younger Tunisian partner, Mohamed Jabali, had some of the most intense arguments on 90 Day Fiancé. Danielle often threatened Mohamed with deportation.

They met in an online chatroom, but Danielle’s children didn’t support the relationship. During the season, it was revealed that Danielle had been using fraudulent checks and someone else’s credit card.

By the end of the season, Danielle didn’t get an annulment from Mohamed and had to divorce him. She also didn’t succeed in deporting him. After their split, Danielle appeared on season 2 of the spinoff show 90 Day Fiancé: The Single Life. As of 2023, she is still working as a registered nurse.

Mohamed Jbali

Mohamed Jbali, seen in season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé, married Danielle despite their constant arguing. As expected, their marriage didn’t last long, and Mohamed quickly left for Florida. After Danielle found pictures online of Mohamed with another woman, she filed for an annulment. However, the court ruled that they would need to get a divorce, which was finalized in 2017.

Unlike Danielle, Mohamed stays off social media but seems to be single in 2023. He used to work as a truck driver but has since switched careers. In early 2023, it was revealed that Mohamed is now involved in day trading. Despite their past conflicts, the former couple confirmed they still stay in touch.

Justin Halas

Justin, a PE teacher, and Evelyn, a Colombian dance teacher, met because of their shared interest in physical activities when Justin came to Colombia for the 2013 World Games. Their relationship faced challenges, especially when Justin failed to tell his family about Evelyn before they got engaged after just three months.

Despite the tough start, they are one of the success stories from the show. The couple is still together, married, and they had a son, Nathan, in 2020. Justin keeps a low profile and his Instagram account is private.

Evelyn Halas

Evelyn came to California to be with Justin, but their relationship had its difficulties. They argued when Justin expected Evelyn to handle most of the housework, and he was hesitant to introduce her to his family. However, she eventually got along with his family, and they married.

The couple remains married, and Evelyn gave birth to a son in 2020. After season 2 ended, Evelyn legally changed her name from Evelin to “Evelyn.” Unlike Justin, she is active on social media and frequently shares family updates.

Brett Otto

Brett Otto, a single father, met Daya De Arce from the Philippines online. They quickly connected, and Daya moved to Washington to be with Brett. Brett had a daughter, Cassidy, from a previous relationship, and they faced financial struggles. The couple ended up living with two of Brett’s friends in America.

Despite their financial problems, Brett and Daya got married after the show ended. They now live as a blended family, with Brett’s daughter from his first marriage and their own daughter, who was born in 2017. They later appeared on the spin-off 90 Day Fiancé: Quarantined, where it was revealed that Brett lost his job during the pandemic and Daya worked to support the family.

Daya De Arce

Daya had a difficult start in America as she faced racist and discriminatory comments from Brett’s family. Brett’s mother accused Daya of using him to get a Green Card, and the mother of Brett’s daughter from a previous relationship accused Daya of being interested in him only for his money.

Despite the challenges, Brett and Daya got married, although Brett’s mother refused to attend the wedding. The couple now has another daughter, Isabella, and they visited Daya’s family in the Philippines. Daya works as a medical technician at an assisted living facility and was an essential worker during the peak of the pandemic.

Jason Hitch

Jason Hitch, from Florida, met Brazilian Càssia Tavares online, after dating one of his friends. The couple often argued about Jason’s tight control over their finances, as he was very frugal, but they still married by the end of the season.

Jason and Càssia separated in 2017, and their divorce was finalized in 2018 after Jason became physically abusive towards her. After the divorce, Jason described himself as a “balloon artist, florist, and pet groomer” on Instagram and seemed to be single. In 2021, Jason passed away from complications of COVID-19 at the age of 45.

Cássia Tavares

When Cássia Tavares moved to the U.S. to be with Jason, she was surprised by how careful he was with money, to the point where he didn’t want to spend it on essentials for their new home. Despite this, the couple tried to make their relationship work, starting a cookie-baking business and getting married at the end of the season.

However, the couple divorced in 2018 after Jason was arrested for domestic abuse. Cássia briefly went back to Brazil but returned to the U.S. to attend the University of South Florida. In 2021, Cássia married an Italian personal trainer named Giuseppe, and the couple held a wedding ceremony in Italy.

Danny Frishmuth

Danny and Amy Frishmuth, a Christian couple, met while on a mission trip to Australia. Amy, from South Africa, moved to Pennsylvania and lived with Danny’s brother, Nick, so they could stay celibate until marriage.

Not everyone in Danny’s family was supportive, especially Danny’s father, who opposed his son marrying a biracial woman. Today, the couple has three children: two daughters and a son. Since season 2 ended, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas, and started their own church, Mercy Culture Church.

Now, with three children, Amy and Danny are still together and run their church. Amy also has her own business, working with a cleaning company called Casabella.
