Where are the cast members of Love After Lockup Season 1 now?

Love knows no limits, and the couples from Love After Lockup who are still together prove this. Love After Lockup is a reality TV series on We TV that follows the relationships between people recently released from prison and their partners. The show, which started in 2018, has since inspired two spin-offs: Life After Lockup and Love During Lockup.

In a 2021 interview with Variety, executive producer Matt Sharp, who also works on 90 Day Fiancé for TLC, explained that he realized the show was a hit when his team at the production company, Industrial Media, started gathering “outside of the edit room, and poking their heads in” while editing the first season.

“Not because they have to, but because they’ve been sucked in by the show,” he said. Sharp shared these observations with We TV’s executive vice president of development and programming. “I actually do remember Matt telling me that early on,” said Gellert. “I said, ‘Well, that’s a good sign.’”

Now, six years later, Love After Lockup is still successful. Since it first aired, the show has introduced numerous couples. Some have stayed together, gotten married, and started families, while others haven’t been as successful.

Which Love After Lockup couples are still together?

Mary and Dominic

Mary and Dominic Dalla Nora appeared in Season 1 of Love After Lockup. They briefly dated before Dominic went to prison in Canada for six years due to aggravated assault. They got married in the Season 1 finale and had their first child, a son named Ari Cristiano, in April 2020.

They later welcomed a second son. While it’s believed that they are still together, several Reddit users in February 2023 noted that Mary used the hashtag “single mom” on her Instagram posts, hinting that they may have split.

In 2019, Mary criticized We TV for not including her and Dominic in the spinoff Life After Lockup. She tweeted, “Proof they don’t want to show a REAL couple who made it! And still continues to shine and do well! Exact proof they are only here for drama, drug addicts and toothless losers.”

She also shared a post on Instagram at the time, upset that Love After Lockup had changed since she and Dominic were featured. “I make it a rule to never post when angry… that being said, yesterday an announcement was made that Love After Lockup would be airing Love After Lockup: Life After Lockup as a spin-off series to the original show.

Like you, I also found this news out online. After working with our production team for years (three and counting), I would have expected to find this news out from them directly, which is frustrating and disappointing to say the least as we were continuously strung along,” she wrote.

She continued, “Dominic and I will not be involved with Life After Lockup. It seems as though our story and image does not align with the direction of the franchise.

We chose to do Season 1 of Love After Lockup to end the stereotypes of incarcerated relationships and shed a new light on our relationship proving that real people, who are educated, come from good families, have good jobs and are genuine can be in these types of relationships.”

She went on to accuse Love After Lockup of reinforcing stereotypes about “prison couples.” “[However,] if you have watched the show, it is fairly apparent that Love After Lockup aims to portray a less than flattering image of those of us who are coming home from prison or have stood by an inmate during their incarceration.

It would seem [the] show showcases people suffering from drug addiction, mental illness, or other various problems,” she wrote.

“I was initially under the impression that the series was meant to showcase those of us who don’t fit the assumed ‘prison couple’ image and never imagined that the show would involve this caliber of individuals and their stories.

For this reason I am thrilled to not be associated with the show or associated with or compared to the other cast members and their stories.”

Angela and Tony

Angela Gail and Tony Wood appeared in Seasons 1 and 2 of Love After Lockup. In Season 1, the show followed their relationship while Tony served a three-year sentence for possessing a firearm. Although they were introduced in Season 1, Tony wasn’t released from prison until Season 2.

Angela and Tony were also featured in Life After Lockup, which showed Tony graduating from Holmes Community College in Goodman, Mississippi, in 2021.

Though they were one of the longest-lasting couples from Love After Lockup, the series’ official Instagram account announced in 2022 that Angela and Tony had split and were “working on” getting a divorce.

“If I had to describe Tony in one or two words … stupid, narcissistic, idiotic,” Angela said at the time. Tony has since moved on with a woman named Heather Matthews. They became Instagram official in March 2022 and celebrated Valentine’s Day together in February 2023.

Andrea and Lamar

Andrea Edwards and Lamar Jackson were featured in Season 1 of Love After Lockup. Andrea met Lamar while he was serving an 18-year sentence for armed robbery. He still had six years left when they began their relationship through letters.

Andrea and Lamar married in the Season 1 finale of Love After Lockup. The couple also appeared in Life After Lockup, where Andrea and Lamar revealed that Andrea’s youngest daughter, Priscilla, whom she had before Lamar’s release, was his secret child.

Priscilla was conceived during a prison visit while Lamar was still incarcerated, after Andrea and Lamar had sex in a closet.
