Carlos Sainz’s biggest fan in racing is his girlfriend, Rebecca Donaldson.
The Spanish F1 driver, who races for Ferrari, was first linked to the Scottish model in the summer of 2023, shortly after ending his long-term relationship with Spanish journalist Isa Hernáez, with whom he had been for nearly seven years.
Although the couple hasn’t publicly discussed their relationship, Sainz made a lighthearted comment about marrying Donaldson in Vegas during an interview with fellow F1 driver Charles Leclerc.
In early 2024, Sainz had to take a break from racing after emergency surgery for appendicitis. Donaldson stayed by his side throughout his recovery and was seen spending time in his hometown, Madrid.
She was also with Sainz at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix in March as the F1 season began. Although Sainz was forced to retire from the race early after crashing into a wall, he was still expected to race in the next event in Shanghai.
So, who is Carlos Sainz’s girlfriend? Here’s everything to know about Rebecca Donaldson and her relationship with the F1 driver.
She’s from Scotland
Donaldson comes from Scone, a town in central Scotland, and attended the well-known Perth Academy.
The school’s website claims to be “possibly the oldest school in Scotland” and says it can trace its origins back to the Grammar School founded in Perth in the 12th century by the Benedictine monks of Dunfermline Abbey.
She’s a model
Based in the UK, Donaldson is a model represented by Brand Model Management. She has appeared on the covers of Vogue Ukraine and Marie Claire México, and she’s also been featured in other fashion and beauty editorials.
Donaldson has shared that her modeling career started because her mother signed her up for a beauty pageant when she was 17.
“My mom entered me and I was really surprised when I found out,” Donaldson told the Daily Record in 2011. “We had to go to rehearsals to practice catwalk-type dances before going in front of four judges.”
Donaldson won the Face of 2011 competition and later competed in the reality series Top Model UK. When she found out she had won, Donaldson said, “My family were all very pleased for me, they were jumping around and stuff!”

She was first seen with Sainz in June 2023
Sainz and Donaldson were first spotted together in Milan in June 2023, although they didn’t show any public displays of affection, according to a post on Matthew J. Thompson’s X (formerly Twitter) account.
Two months later, fans seemed to confirm their relationship when the couple were seen again on a golf course in Amsterdam, according to Essentially Sports.
It seems that Donaldson has had the chance to meet Sainz’s family too. In February 2024, the model walked the runway during Madrid Fashion Week, and some of Sainz’s family members, including his sisters Ana and Blanca and his mother Reyes, were in the crowd, according to Essentially Sports.
She founded an activewear company
During the COVID-19 lockdown in October 2020, Donaldson started her own clothing brand, Muse Activewear.
“I was spending many days and hours during lockdown feeling a little purposeless,” she said in a 2021 interview with Vestd. “So, I decided to pursue my dream of starting a clothing brand.”
Donaldson described her brand as “a diverse collection of comfortable, supportive gym wear that can also be transitioned to be worn in everyday life.”
She continued, “The brand is based on the minimalism trend ‘woke luxe’ including restrained forms with neutral, trans-seasonal colour palettes.”
She prefers being an entrepreneur
In her interview with Vestd, Donaldson shared that she has “never had a 9 to 5 job” and prefers the lifestyle of an entrepreneur.
“I’ve part-time worked in that sort of role however I’ve only ever lasted around 6 months,” she said. “This is probably part of the reason why I decided to start my own business!”
The model also mentioned that she used to work on her laptop in bed but became “very lethargic.”
“So to keep focused and productivity levels high whilst working remotely, I recommend finding a place in your home and making it a dedicated work zone,” she added.

She previously dated Scott Disick
Before her relationship with Sainz, Donaldson briefly dated Scott Disick. The couple made their first red carpet appearance in April 2022 at the premiere event for Hulu’s The Kardashians in Los Angeles.
They held hands while posing for photos, with Disick wearing a black suit and white dress shirt, and Donaldson dressed in a one-shoulder green dress with heels.
In June 2022, E! News reported that Disick and Donaldson had broken up a few weeks earlier.
She supports Sainz at racing events
Donaldson was seen hugging and kissing Sainz before the F1 Grand Prix of Mexico in October 2023. The next month, before the F1 Grand Prix of Las Vegas, she and Sainz were spotted walking together.
In May 2024, she continued to cheer for him during qualifying races before the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco, right before he finished third in the race. A few months later, she was there to support him as he claimed a major win in October 2024, taking first place at the F1 Grand Prix of Mexico.
What is the net worth of Carlos Sainz?
As of 2025, Carlos Sainz’s net worth is estimated to be around $50 million, according to the well-known media outlet Celebrity Net Worth. Known as “The Smooth Operator,” Sainz first entered Formula 1 in 2015 and has continued to impress ever since. After almost a decade of racing with speed and under high temperatures on the track, Sainz left McLaren for Ferrari in 2021. He signed a contract with Ferrari worth $8 million per year for two years.
His contract was later extended for another two years, raising his salary to $10 million annually. Apart from his success on the track, Sainz is also recognized for his brand endorsements. He is considered one of the highest-earning drivers and makes between $4 to $7 million from these deals.
His recent decision to join Williams has caught attention, but there have been no updates on the financial details of the deal so far.
During a recent interview on the official YouTube channel of Formula 1, Carlos Sainz spoke about the new phase of his career with Williams. He shared his excitement and said:

“But the only thing I can tell you is I’m very happy. I’m very motivated. I’m excited. I feel supported. I feel a team full of good energy, and positive energy. I have a team principal and a team that fully trusts in my abilities and that wants to listen to what I say. And I have confidence in my abilities to help the team to move forward.”
He went on to say:
“Then, how much I miss a win or how much I miss that and how jealous will I be of people that are fighting for positions that I used to be fighting, I cannot say how much I’ll feel of that. But I can tell you that I’m proud and happy to be part of a team like Williams and to join a project that the team has trusted me to help them in that recovery process.”
According to Carlos Sainz, the four-time F1 winner, he believes he has made the right choice and is eager to wear the black jersey of Williams for the upcoming season.
