Actor R. Madhavan is finally back in an upcoming romantic film ‘Maara’ opposite Shraddha Srinath that is scheduled to premiere on 8 January 2021. The trailer of R. Madhavan starrer Maara was released on Tuesday. It introduces us to Tessa, played by Shraddha Srinath, and her point of view towards love. She feels that love is something that changes a man completely. It makes him stronger and ready to go against all odds the world is capable of putting forward.
Love takes Tessa to places where she would never choose to go. She believes in the fairy tale kind of love story. Tessa has seen the painted walls in her town, which she feels, hold stories in them. She is out on a journey to explore the hidden meaning beneath them and to find the person who has painted them – Maara. Tessa’s notion about love begins and ends at fairy tales and fictional stories. Her family feels that Tessa will not fall in love until some fictional character comes to life and meets her.
Maara, on the other hand, is a wanderer who travels places and has no fixed destination. He likes connecting with people all around the country, visiting places, and exploring different meanings of life and human connections. He lives in the moment with no unrealistic expectations. Maara puts real-life incidents into his art and lives to help people, heal them from their suffering, and make them smile.
Tessa tries to follow the trails that might lead her to Maara. She visits places that have been touched down by him at some point in his life. She knows nothing about him except the fact that he’s different from the rest of us. He feels more like a fairy tale than a normal human being who is ‘just living’ because he has to. Will Tessa be able to know Maara and explore the world through his eyes? Will Tessa’s living a real-life fairytale? Well, for that, we’ll have to wait until 8th January for the movie to start streaming.
The movie is set amidst the beauty of nature and appears nothing less than a beautifully painted canvas. The main leads seem to portray their roles with the utmost honesty. So far, the trailer seems effortless and a work of pure art with heartwarming visuals.
Directed by Dhilip Kumar, Maara is a Tamil reinterpretation of a popular film Charlie, that was released in 2015 and featured Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy in lead roles. The creators, however, decided that instead of being a scene-to-scene remake of the Malayalam film, they would like to give a touch of originality to their project, and by watching the trailer, we feel they’ve been successful enough in their plans. The character retains their authenticity instead of trying to portray the characters of Charlie and Tessa.
