Now that we have finally arrived in 2021, things are looking safer. And hopefully, everything gets back to normal pretty soon. But this journey isn’t over as we got to persevere a bit longer. Past year, during the lockdown, all of us spent our time differently. Some learned new skills, and some worked out while others learned to cook or even bake. While some of us just binged on shows. The thing is, there’s nothing wrong with taking a bit of time off to relax and chill. And now that lockdowns are going down, show productions are going back on, thus giving us a huge variety of shows this year. So, here are some of the TV Shows of 2021 we feel you should definitely check out:

WandaVision

WandaVision is an upcoming Disney+ mini-series based on the Marvel Comics characters Wanda Maximoff and Vision. The story takes place after that of the events of Avengers: Endgame. As we will see, Wanda and Vision trying to live out their lives happily in the suburban area. While trying to hide their powers, their story is shown through the sitcom styles of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. But something isn’t quite right. As I remember, Vision had died in Infinity War. That means this scenario is not true, and it’s either a vision Wanda is having, or she is being manipulated. Either way, things do not look good for Wanda. As Kevin Feige said that this is not a single story, but in fact, the story will lead to Spiderman: Multiverse of Madness.

The Equalizer

The Equalizer is an upcoming crime drama that reimagines the 1980s drama of the same name. It originally aired from 1985 to 1989 and is the second reboot in the franchise, after the films which came out in 2014 and 2018. The show follows the life of Robyn McCall. She is an enigmatic woman who is a single mother to her teenage daughter, Delilah. Having a mysterious background, she makes use of her extensive skills to help those in need. Acting out as a guardian angel, she defends those who cannot defend themselves while pursuing her own redemption.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an upcoming Disney+ mini-series based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name. The story takes place in the aftermath of events in Avengers: Endgame. Captain America handles his mantle to Sam Wilson. So, he and Bucky Barnes team up to go on a world-wide adventure to fight the anarchist group, Flag-Smashers.

According to some leaks, In short, the plot will see the U.S. government unwilling to recognize Sam Wilson as the new Captain America. In his place, the government chooses John Walker as the new American hero, endowing him the name U.S. Agent. This leads Sam to align with Bucky to fight crime as vigilantes. But as Sam begins to respect John Walker, Walker is implanted with a chip in his brain by Baron Zemo that makes him turn rogue. That’s when Sam, Bucky, and Sharon Carter team up to stop him.

Loki

Loki is an upcoming Disney+ mini-series based on the Marvel Comics character himself. The story took place in the MCU itself when an alternate version of Loki created a new timeline by using the tesseract. After which, he is brought in by TVA (Time Variance Authority) and is tasked to change human history by altering timelines through his influence. Do remember that this is the Loki who got humiliated by getting his face bashed by Hulk. So, only time will tell what the God of Mischief has in mind.

The Lord of the Rings

Based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Lord of the Rings” is an upcoming drama TV series. Amazon bought its rights for 250 million and has committed to 5 seasons. Which would mean that this show will be the most expensive TV series at 1 Billion dollars. The story is set in the second age of Middle-Earth and will portray the story of the events before that of Lord of the Rings films. The show, like the movies, is being filmed in New Zealand and will be written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.

The Wheel of Time

The Wheel of Time is an upcoming TV show based on the novel series “Wheel of Time” by Robert Jordan. The story is set in an unnamed world where the time is set in both the distant past and the distant future. The show is set three thousand years after the “Breaking of the Worlds,” which is said to have ended the “Age of Legends.” The plot revolves around the character Moiraine, a member of an all-female group Aes Sedai. They have set out on a journey to find the prophesized Dragon Reborn. Who is said to save the world from the Dark One or be its eventual doom? On her journey, she meets Rand al’Thor, who she believes is the reincarnated Dragon.

The Witcher (Season 2)

The Witcher is a fantasy drama TV Series based on the books of the same name by Andrzej Sapowski. The show revolves around Geralt of Rivia, Ciri, and Yennefer of Vengerberg. At the season one finale, we saw Geralt having a vision of a woman named Visenna, which the upcoming season might further look into. The first season is based on The Last Wish, the showrunners have confirmed that the events in the show will stay true to the source material. That being said, it means the next season would likely adapt Blood of Elves and Time of Contempt.

Foundation is an upcoming science-fiction TV series based on the long-running novel series of the same name by Isaac Asimov. According to the teaser, Hari Seldon predicts the Empire’s downfall and narrates it to a young mathematician, Gaal Dornick. The story revolves around the foundation, a group of exiles who are trying to save the Galactic Empire. But, later find out the only way to do it is to defy it. It is a complicated saga of characters scattered all over the galaxy under the Galactic Empire. The major difference from the books is that the show has portrayed reimagined Demerzel, Salvor, and Gaal into female characters.

Peaky Blinders (Season 6)

Peaky Blinders is a crime drama TV series by Steven Knight. The story follows the exploits of the Shelby crime family post the First World War in Birmingham, England. The story is based on a gang of the same name, who was active during the 1980s to the early 20th century.

In Season 5, Tommy, in order to stop Oswald Mosley, decides to infiltrate the Fascist Party and informs of the same to Winston Churchill. And during the family meeting, he casts out Michael after rejecting his and Gina’s proposal of restructuring the company. Later, the assassination attempt fails, and Tommy is seen in torment, placing the gun to his forehead in an intent to commit suicide.

Stranger Things (Season 4)

Stranger Things is a sci-fi horror thriller TV series made by The Duffer Brothers. Being premiered back on July 15, 2016, the show’s plot is set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. Season 1 focuses on the disappearance of Will Byers and the appearance of a girl with psychokinetic powers while supernatural events kept occurring around the town. Season 2 focuses on the entities which were crawling into the real world from Upside Down. Meanwhile, Will starts to have side effects from being there. Season 3 focuses on the kids’ battle with the entities whole, focusing on Eleven and Mike’s relationship.
