Get ready to witness Marvel’s one of the most captivating and thrilling characters on the big screen with the upcoming film ‘Morbius.’ Directed by Daniel Espinosa, the film is a superhero sci-fi project, with loads of action, which is an important aspect of Marvel movies. Starring the oscar-winning actor Jared Leto as the lead hero, we’ve just got to wait for 10 more weeks to unbox our Marvel treat in the theatres.
The trailer of the film was dropped on YouTube around a year ago, and it seems quite gripping. We see a young Michael who is unable to walk without the support of crutches, for he suffers from a rare blood disorder. He is bullied by the students in his school, gets beaten up, and finds himself in a helpless condition. He is academically and logically very smart, and that’s what makes him one of a kind. His mentor makes him believe that he is gifted and can achieve anything he wants.
The film basically revolves around Michael Morbius, whose life turns upside down in the blink of an eye. He is a scientist who tries to cure his blood disease on his own. In his attempt, he comes up with a serum that is derived from bats, and he does the inevitable. Michael’s endeavors of healing himself make him deadly. He ends up transforming himself into a bloodsucking antihero, who has a silhouette of vampirism covering him. The serum turns him into a living creature of the night, with superpowers, and an urge to feast himself with blood.
The trailer is gripping from the beginning till the end, and we can’t seem to get over it already. It arises a sense of eagerness to watch the entire story that revolves around the antihero. The film was initially scheduled to release in July 2020 but ended up getting postponed because of the global health pandemic. Owing to the fan following Marvel has, the makers chose not to opt for an online platform premiere. Instead, they decided to push the release dates to 2021. ‘Morbius,’ the horror fantasy film stars Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Tyrese Gibson as Simon Stroud, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and various others alongside the lead actor, Jared Leto, who plays the titular character in the film.

Telling you a bit more about the character’s origin, Morbius is not actually a part of Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU.) Instead, he emerged as a villain back in 1971 in Marvel Comics, making his debut with Spider-Man. The character, however, does not exist in the same world as the other Marvel Characters like Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man. The whole character history of Morbius lies with the universe of Spider-Man, whose rights are owned by Sony. However, the reason for the emergence of Morbius goes parallel with the existence of Spider-Man.
Michael Keaton has been previously seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was also a part of the Sony-Marvel universe. In addition, the lead actor of the film, Jade Keto, has portrayed the role of Joker in DC’s Suicide Squad in 2018. The film is scheduled to hit the big screen on 19 March 2021, and after such a long wait, the fans are joyous and eager to witness the entire length of the story in the upcoming Spring, which is just around the corner.
