The Synopsis
The series is set in Scotland and follows the events after the strange disappearance of a fishing boat and the death of a Trident nuclear submarine crew member. The submarine was filmed off the west coast of Scotland, with some sequences shot in Glasgow, notably the Squinty Bridge, a road bridge that spans the River Clyde, Blythswood Square in the city center, and the west end of the city at the River Kelvin. The episodes involve a clash between local police and British security officials, as well as the Navy. The submarine must continue on patrol to maintain the UK’s nuclear deterrence, therefore Detective Chief Inspector Amy Silva must travel onboard to begin an inquiry. Suranne Jones plays DCI Amy Silva, the principal detective in the film.

From now on, you can catch Surrane Jones in the forthcoming thriller ” Vigil” on the BBC network every Sunday at 9 p.m. The first two episodes of Vigil were broadcasted on BBC One and BBC iPlayer over the bank holiday weekend, on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th August. From then on, the remaining episodes will show every week on Sunday. The drama was announced in January 2020, with a complete cast in place, but production was significantly delayed due to the following pandemic. Filming was momentarily suspended while the television business transitioned to a new method of working. It resumed in late August 2020 and has been finished since then. Viewers of Vigil were underwhelmed, complaining that they couldn’t hear the latest turns in the submarine thriller. The Cast
Suranne Jones is the star of the show at this point. Jones is a well-known face on British television, having originally featured in the soap opera Coronation Street as Karen McDonald. Jones has appeared in several films since then, including Gentleman Jack, Doctor Foster, and most recently, I Am Victoria. She co-stars in the film with Martin Compston, who plays Craig Burke. Martin Compston’s role is an underwater specialist whose job is to keep the HMS Vigil on track. The Scottish actor is best known for his role as DS Steve Arnott in the BBC series Line of Duty. Another well-known character in the BBC show is Shaun Evans, 41. Evans will play Glover, the HMS Vigil’s Coxswain, who will be in charge of the ship’s navigation and steering. Evans is best known for his role as a young Endeavour Morse in the ITV program Endeavour.
