The daytime TV landscape experienced seismic shifts when General Hospital parted ways with Steve Burton and Ingo Rademacher, two of its standout talents, due to their non-compliance with vaccine mandates. In the aftermath of this decision, Rademacher, known for his portrayal of Jasper “Jax” Jacks, reached out to his fan base with a personal update.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a snapshot of himself immersed in a Plunge cold tub, crediting the ice water therapy with helping him maintain his mental well-being. Rademacher expressed regret for the scarcity of his posts over the past year and a half, attributing this to newfound mental health challenges. He admitted that this was an unprecedented struggle for him, acknowledging the roughness of the first year but noting improvement.
Updating on his legal battle against ABC/Disney, Rademacher revealed that his case is currently in the appeals process. He candidly shared doubts about his decision to uproot his family and relocate to Florida, emphasizing his deep identification with his General Hospital character over decades, envisioning a continued presence on the show.
Despite facing adversity, Rademacher asserted that he’s not playing the victim but rather being honest about his current life circumstances. He confessed to grappling with diminished motivation, coupled with the challenge of unwanted weight gain, disclosing a recent weight of 222 pounds against a target of 190 or ideally 185—a fact he found embarrassing, especially given his usual emphasis on fitness.
Optimism, however, remains a constant. Rademacher conveyed a newfound motivation and teased that there’s more to come. Encouraging his audience to stay tuned, he hinted at a positive trajectory in his journey ahead.
