The brick house, built in 1946 and remodeled in 2016, suffered significant damage, particularly to the second story, which was engulfed in flames when the Houston Fire Department arrived on the scene early Monday, according to ABC13.
The current occupants of the Riverside Terrace residence, fortunately, managed to escape unharmed, as per the TV station’s report. Despite the alarming situation, fire crews swiftly extinguished the flames, preventing further damage to the three-bedroom French traditional home, according to Harris County property records.

Public Information Officer Martee Black from the Houston Fire Department has not yet responded to inquiries from USA TODAY regarding the incident. Records indicate that the property, listed for sale a few years ago, was purchased in May 2019 for an amount ranging between $420,001 and $482,000.
The house holds historical significance as an early childhood home of Beyoncé, with the Knowles family having acquired it in 1982 and residing there until Beyoncé was approximately 5 years old, according to a realtor who spoke to Good Morning America in 2018. Despite the damage caused by the fire, the current residents escaped unscathed, and the swift response of the fire crews limited the destruction.
