The enigma surrounding Heather Gay’s black eye in Season 3 has finally been unraveled. After almost a year of speculation, Heather confirmed that it was former Housewife Jen Shah who inflicted the injury, divulging this revelation during the Season 4 finale of RHOSLC on Tuesday.
In one of the franchise’s most intense scenes, Heather, along with her co-stars Lisa Barlow, Meredith Marks, and Whitney Rose, confronted rookie Housewife Monica Garcia regarding her alleged involvement in the Instagram troll account Reality Von Tease. Drawing parallels between Monica’s behavior and her previous experience with Jen, who is currently serving a five-year prison sentence for a telemarketing scheme, Heather expressed her distrust.
“We are friends, and we have been through this b—s— before with Jen,” she exclaimed. Heather sternly mentioned defending Jen during a book tour and taking criticism for the black eye. The shocking admission left the other women astounded, with Meredith and Lisa reacting with disbelief.
Heather detailed the origin of her black eye, which occurred during a late-night party with castmates Jen and Meredith Marks in San Diego in Season 3. Bravo cameras weren’t rolling at the time, leaving the circumstances unclear. Throughout the last season, Heather’s mysterious injury was a recurring topic, and she labeled the incident as “humiliating” during the Season 3 reunion in January 2023.
Despite the speculation, Heather remained tight-lipped about the cause of her black eye, claiming she blacked out and woke up with the injury. During the Season 3 reunion, Heather mentioned trusting Jen the most and even contemplated creating a cover story with her help. However, in the Season 4 finale, she declares an end to supporting Monica and instructs her to “pack her bags and go.”
While Heather didn’t provide additional details about the incident in the Season 4 finale, she hinted at more revelations during the upcoming three-part reunion, with Part 1 scheduled to air next week. Heather and Jen’s friendship, which had endured through Jen’s arrest in March 2021, took a significant turn when Jen pled guilty, as revealed by Heather to PEOPLE in February 2023.
