Famous for his part in “Starsky & Hutch,” Paul Michael Glaser has sent his deepest sympathies on the demise of his longtime friend and co-star, David Soul. Glaser described Soul as a brother and a compassionate person in a statement to People, stressing that we will never see someone like him again.
Glaser acknowledged that he was having a hard time embracing Soul’s passing and reflected back on their phone conversations, which demonstrated the slow process of coming to terms with the loss of a close friend and an essential component of his life.

Glaser said that Soul, who was 80 years old, genuinely loved and treasured his wife Helen Snell, who supported him through difficult times. Glaser sent his sympathies to Soul’s daughter and boys, citing China in particular. Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to the audience for their support and acknowledged that they had recognized the unique link between the two actors.
Glaser portrayed David Michael Starsky in the iconic buddy cop drama “Starsky & Hutch” series, which ran from 1975 to 1979. Soul played Sergeant Kenneth Richard “Hutch” Hutchinson.
Actor Ben Stiller, who played “David Starsky” in the 2004 film adaptation, expressed his sorrow and paid respect to Soul on X, calling him the epitome of ’70s cool.
Soul, who died at the age of eighty, had suffered from a number of illnesses, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and cancer. Soul’s wife, Helen Snell, made an announcement about his passing, saying that he passed away quietly after valiantly fighting for his life in the company of loved ones.
Snell praised Soul’s numerous accomplishments to the world as an actor, singer, storyteller, and creative artist in her statement. She emphasized his contagious laugh, grin, and enthusiasm for life, promising that those whose lives he touched will remember these attributes.
The six children David Soul left behind were five sons and one girl. He is survived by his wife, Helen Snell.
