Newly released footage depicts the harrowing moments following a shark attack on a 10-year-old boy in a Bahamas shark tank. The video shows the predator circling the victim as the pool becomes filled with the boy’s blood.
The incident occurred during the “Walking with Sharks” excursion at the Atlantis Bahamas Resort, where children aged 10 and above can enjoy 30 minutes of interaction with nurses and reef sharks for $110.
The boy, led into the tank by staff, faced a sudden turn of events when one of the sharks darted between his legs, compelling him to straddle the giant fish. The shark then bit into his right calf, as captured in the video obtained by TMZ.

What was promised to be a unique experience quickly turned chaotic. The boy surfaced frantically and was assisted to safety by his father, who bravely entered the shark-infested pool to rescue his son. Despite the profuse bleeding, the boy kicked his injured leg to the surface as the sharks continued to pass by.
Onlookers expressed disbelief at the situation, with one guest exclaiming, “There’s a little kid in there!” Another video from witnesses at the Atlantis Bahamas Resort captured the panic as they realized the severity of the situation. The boy’s mother can be heard asking, “Did that just bite him?” before urgently calling for medical assistance.
The boy’s parents managed to pull him out of the water and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Witnesses mentioned that just before the incident, the boy had been walking near the shark tank as part of an on-site shark encounter experience offered by the resort.
The sharks, circling the tank, seemed to target the boy, who was among many wearing a large white helmet, oxygen tank, and flippers to observe the marine creatures. The extent of the boy’s injuries and the reason for the sharks’ focus on him remain unclear.
Following the attack, both the Atlantis Bahamas Resort and Blue Adventures, the organizers of the excursion, promptly closed down the tanks. The resort’s website no longer features the shark tank expedition page, though a tourist page linked to Blue Adventures still lists the adventure as available for guests aged 10 and older at a cost of $110 for 30 minutes.
In a statement, Blue Adventures expressed commitment to a thorough internal investigation and full cooperation with authorities, emphasizing that incidents like this involving marine life interactions are rare and unacceptable.
The unsettling incident coincides with a travel advisory from the US embassy in the Bahamas, warning against travel to the island nation due to the murders of 18 tourists, some occurring in broad daylight.
