Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu embarked on a journey to Beijing, China, on Tuesday to fulfill his commitment of establishing a comprehensive transportation system for the residents of Lagos.
During his visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu is set to scrutinize the Signaling System and Metro projects managed by China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) in the vicinity of Beijing, as disclosed by Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary of the Governor.
In line with the agenda, the Governor will also engage in trade and investment discussions with top officials at the headquarters of CCECC. His itinerary includes inspecting ongoing projects in Beijing and subsequently traveling to Dalian later in the week.
In Dalian, he plans to visit the headquarters of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) and the CRRC Lvshun base. Additionally, a high-level official meeting with the Head of CRRC Dalian is scheduled.
Technical discussions pertaining to the Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs) for the Red Line and Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) for the Blue Line will be held between the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), CCECC, and CRRC Dalian.
The Governor, accompanied by his delegation, which includes Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, is anticipated to return to Lagos within a week.
