In a recent email to his supporters on Friday night, former President Donald Trump capitalized on reports claiming that President Biden referred to him as a “sick f***.” The email asserted that Biden’s derogatory remarks weren’t limited to Trump alone but extended to all of his dedicated followers, as per a report by Politico that disclosed Biden’s alleged comments made in private conversations.
According to three unnamed sources cited by Politico, Biden has reportedly characterized Trump to close associates as a “sick f***” who takes pleasure in others’ misfortunes. Furthermore, Biden is said to have expressed disdain by referring to Trump as a “f***ing a**hole.”
The email seized on this controversy and drew parallels with comments from Trump’s 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton, who famously labeled Trump supporters as “deplorables.” The fundraising appeal warned supporters that Biden would not hesitate to denigrate them with profanity and urged them to contribute to thwart his actions. The message declared, “And I know with your patriotic support at this very moment, WE WILL STOP HIM! Before the day is over, I’m calling on EVERY PATRIOT reading this message to chip in and say, I LOVE PRESIDENT TRUMP!”
Trump, known for leveraging controversies for fundraising, has historically seen success in this strategy. However, the email also acknowledged the financial toll of his legal challenges, revealing that Trump’s fundraising committees spent nearly $30 million on legal fees in the latter half of 2023.
Despite financial challenges, Trump remains the frontrunner in the GOP primary, having secured victories in the early states of Iowa and New Hampshire, an achievement considered unprecedented for a Republican candidate in a contested primary.
