In a recent address at his campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, President Biden took aim at former President Trump, asserting that the GOP frontrunner lacks a clear stance on issues.
While not directly naming Trump during the speech, Biden criticized his opponent’s campaign, characterizing it as unconventional and even more erratic than the 2020 election.
Expressing confidence in his current standing and referencing the significance of democracy, Biden remarked, “I’m feeling good about where we are, I really am.
You know, folks are starting to focus in and the guy we’re running against, he is — he’s not for anything, he’s against everything.” The president described the ongoing campaign as peculiar, emphasizing the contrast in behavior compared to the previous election.
Biden stressed the understanding among Americans regarding the upcoming general election, recounting his earlier speeches on democracy and Independence Hall. He asserted that the public comprehends the gravity of the situation and the current political landscape.
During his overseas travels, Biden highlighted receiving support from leaders of other nations, attributing his optimism to both international and domestic backing.
He pointed to a recent Quinnipiac poll where he led Trump by six points among registered voters in a hypothetical general election matchup. Additionally, the president referenced positive polling data from Pennsylvania, where he is reportedly ahead of his presumed Republican rival.
Biden expressed enthusiasm about the increasing focus on the election, stating, “But folks, things are — people are beginning to focus and they’re beginning to focus and the polling data, everything is picking up across the board.”
He mentioned the success in New Hampshire, where he secured 64 percent of the vote despite not being on the ballot or campaigning there.
However, contrasting polls, such as a CNN survey conducted by SSRS, showed Trump leading by four points over Biden, mirroring the results from the fall. This discrepancy in polling outcomes suggests a diverse range of opinions on the current political landscape.
The president’s speech, delivered at his campaign headquarters, serves as an indication that his reelection efforts are intensifying. Vice President Kamala Harris, First Lady Jill Biden, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff attended the event, demonstrating unified support for the president as he delivered his remarks.
