Former President Donald Trump expressed potential changes in the leadership of the Republican National Committee (RNC) during an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” When asked about RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel’s performance, Trump hinted at forthcoming adjustments without providing specific details.
Reflecting on McDaniel’s role in managing Michigan during his campaign, Trump initially commended her work at the RNC. However, he suggested the likelihood of changes in the current scenario. This marks a shift from Trump’s earlier praise for McDaniel, where he commended her during a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition in October, describing her leadership of the RNC as “fantastic.”
Despite NBC News’ attempt to seek comments from the Trump campaign and the RNC, there was no immediate response.

Following Trump’s decisive win in the New Hampshire primary, McDaniel reiterated her commitment to rallying around Trump if he emerged as the Republican presidential nominee. She stressed the need for Republicans to unite against Joe Biden, considering the stakes for the Senate, House, and White House in the upcoming elections.
Despite criticism directed at McDaniel after lackluster performances by Republican candidates in the 2022 and 2023 elections, she secured a fourth term as RNC chair in January 2023.
The RNC’s decision to proceed with a post-election audit after the 2022 midterms, focusing on Trump’s impact on the results, drew attention. Despite internal discussions, the party opted not to make their “autopsy” report on the losses public.
While McDaniel faced challenges and scrutiny within the RNC, she prevailed and maintained her leadership role as the party continued its preparations for future political engagements.
