Donald Trump expressed his desire to engage in immediate debates with President Joe Biden on Monday. However, the Democratic incumbent swiftly dismissed the suggestion, creating a back-and-forth exchange between the two political figures.
During an appearance on “The Dan Bongino Show,” Trump declared, “I’d like to call for, immediately, debates,” emphasizing the need for a discussion for the benefit of the country. As the leading contender for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination, Trump urged the importance of a debate at this stage.

In response, Biden shrugged off the proposal, stating at a boba shop in Las Vegas, “Well, if I were him, I’d want to debate me too.” He added a jab, saying, “He’s got nothing else to do.”
The interaction underscores the prevailing belief on both sides that Trump and Biden are virtually assured to be the official nominees for their respective parties despite the ongoing primary season. Additionally, it highlights the debate strategy adopted by both candidates throughout the current election cycle.
Notably, Trump has chosen to skip every Republican primary debate, disregarding calls from his primary challenger, former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley, for a face-to-face showdown. On the other hand, Biden has refrained from participating in debates with the few long-shot Democratic contenders vying for the party’s nomination.
