Donald Trump Jr. has issued a stern warning to Senate Republicans, cautioning them against what he perceives as “collusion” with Senate Leader Chuck Schumer on the ongoing negotiations concerning the border bill in Congress. Moreover, he has threatened to initiate primary challenges against any GOP lawmakers who align with Democrats in providing further aid to Ukraine.
In a recent statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Trump Jr. asserted, “Senate GOP Leadership is colluding with Chuck Schumer and the Democrats to ram thru a Ukraine First bailout bill in the Senate. Any Republican who stands with Chuck Schumer to send billions more to Ukraine is a total sellout and deserves a Primary. No more America Last RINOs!!!”

According to reports, Schumer is preparing to push for a vote on a scaled-down foreign aid package as soon as Wednesday. This move has garnered support from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and other prominent Republicans, potentially providing Schumer with the requisite 60 votes to advance the bill.
The timing of Trump Jr.’s warning coincides with growing tensions within the GOP ranks, particularly following the Republicans’ decision to thwart the border security bill negotiated by Senator James Lankford, a prominent conservative member of their party.
Acknowledging the internal opposition, McConnell conceded on Tuesday that there was no viable path for the passage of the border security bill. He remarked to reporters, “We had a very robust discussion about whether or not this product could ever become law. And it’s been made pretty clear to us by the speaker that it will not become law.”
Former President Donald Trump has been vocal in his opposition to the proposed $118 billion border package, characterizing it as “a great gift to the Democrats, and a Death Wish for The Republican Party.” He has urged GOP lawmakers to reject any deal that falls short of their desired objectives.
Trump Jr.’s stance echoes sentiments expressed by Senator J.D. Vance, a staunch ally of the Trump administration. Vance criticized the foreign aid package as “a disaster,” warning that it could exacerbate the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border and represents “the worst of all possible worlds.”
