Special Counsel Robert Hur’s recent report sheds light on Joe Biden’s troubling history with classified material. Witnesses revealed that during his time as vice president, Biden routinely took classified files and failed to return them as required.

Hur’s investigation, spanning a year and involving interviews with 147 witnesses, including Biden himself, uncovered a pattern of behavior where Biden would remove and retain classified materials from his briefing books, sometimes making retrieval difficult for his staff.

One notable incident highlighted in the report occurred in August 2010, when Biden failed to return Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information from a classified briefing book received during a trip.

Despite White House officials scheduling a briefing with Biden that same month to review protocol, his carelessness persisted throughout his term. Former aides reported instances where classified documents were left unattended in insecure locations at both the Naval Observatory and his Delaware home.

The investigation also revealed that Biden continued these habits even after leaving the vice presidency. Hur disclosed evidence suggesting that Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials during his time as a private citizen, including marked classified documents and notebooks containing sensitive information about national security and foreign policy.

However, Hur concluded that Biden’s mental acuity was lacking, making him unfit to face trial. Despite the damning findings, Biden remains protected from prosecution by his presidency and apparent cognitive decline.

Comparisons are drawn to the indictment of former President Donald Trump by Special Counsel Jack Smith in June 2023. Trump faces charges related to the alleged retention of national defense information and obstruction of the investigation.

The article suggests that if not for protections afforded by his current office and a Department of Justice perceived to favor Democrats over Republicans, Biden could face even more severe charges than Trump.

The article criticizes what it perceives as a double standard in the justice system, highlighting the disparity in treatment between Biden and Trump. It points out instances where Biden’s aides conducted searches for classified documents without the scrutiny faced by Trump and his associates.

In summary, the article portrays Biden’s mishandling of classified material as a serious issue, exacerbated by what it sees as preferential treatment from law enforcement and the media.
