Kanye West reportedly attempted to provoke a confrontation with Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl, but Swift seemingly thwarted his plans.
West allegedly purchased seats in front of Swift’s suite at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the game between Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
Former NFL player Brandon Marshall discussed the incident on his “Paper Route” podcast, suggesting that West was trying to use Swift’s celebrity status to create a contentious moment reminiscent of their past feud.
Marshall referred to the 2009 VMAs incident when West famously interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech, implying that West wanted to recreate a similar scenario.
However, Swift seemingly took action, leading to West’s removal from the stadium. It’s unclear how Marshall learned about West’s alleged intentions or if Swift was directly involved in West’s ejection.
West and his wife, Bianca Censori, were reportedly photographed at the game, with West wearing a face covering featuring a white crucifix. Despite the reported incident, West did not address being asked to leave his seats or the stadium when speaking to TMZ on Monday.
The alleged incident adds another chapter to the long-standing feud between West and Swift. Despite occasional moments of reconciliation, their relationship has been marked by public disagreements and controversies.
