Eric Trump criticized the $355 million fine imposed on his father, former President Trump, by New York Judge Arthur Engoron in the civil fraud trial, calling it “horribly sad” and unjust.
“My father built a skyline of New York City. And this is the thanks he gets for doing absolutely nothing wrong, not a dollar of financial loss? The exact opposite, hundreds of millions of dollars in financial gain,” Eric Trump said in an interview on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle.”
He expressed frustration that despite witnesses testifying that the Trump Organization had no involvement in the alleged fraud, the judge still ruled against them. Eric Trump characterized the case as a political attack, echoing his father’s claims.
“This is the state of New York,” Eric Trump said, criticizing the state’s leadership and cautioning against moving to New York due to its perceived political biases.
He accused the judge of prejudging the case and suggested that the lawsuit should have been handled by the commercial division of the court, which he believed would have led to a different outcome.
Eric Trump vowed to appeal the decision, describing it as “egregious” and expressing confidence that they would overturn it.
“I promise you we’re going to get it overturned,” he said.
