According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, the country’s armed forces have successfully brought down six Russian fighter jets within just three days.
The ministry announced a statement on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that on Monday alone, Ukraine intercepted and destroyed two Russian aircraft: a Su-34 fighter-bomber and a Su-35S fighter jet.
The statement emphasized the continuous success of Ukrainian forces in neutralizing Russian aerial threats, stating, “Russian planes continue to fall!
This morning, defenders of the sky shot down two Russian planes in the eastern direction—a Su-34 fighter-bomber and a Su-35 fighter. In 3 days, Ukraine destroyed 6 Russian jets.”
The recent series of victories follows the disclosure by Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who reported the destruction of four Russian military aircraft over the weekend.
Oleshchuk conveyed the accomplishment via Telegram on Saturday, asserting that Ukrainian Air Force units had eliminated three enemy aircraft simultaneously—two Su-34 fighter-bombers and one Su-35 fighter.
He further revealed that another Russian Su-34 fighter bomber was downed on Sunday morning. A circulating video on social media provides apparent footage of one of the jets being intercepted and taken down, depicting the intensity of the engagements.
These developments underscore Ukraine’s commitment and capability to defend its airspace against Russian incursions, showcasing the resolve and effectiveness of its armed forces in confronting aerial threats.
As tensions persist and military confrontations escalate, both sides remain engaged in a high-stakes conflict with implications extending beyond their borders.
