Fox News host Tomi Lahren made a bold prediction on Monday, suggesting that the Democratic Party might push Joe Biden aside before the 2024 election.
During a segment on “Outnumbered,” Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany referenced a report from NBC’s “Today” that highlighted the Biden administration’s confidence, contrasting it with concerns within the broader Democratic coalition.
Lahren, participating in the discussion, remarked that Biden’s reluctance to step down due to age-related concerns wasn’t surprising, noting that many older individuals resist being told they can no longer handle their responsibilities. However, she emphasized the importance of prioritizing the nation’s interests when occupying the presidency.
Highlighting the Democrats’ previous worries about Biden’s age during the 2020 election, Lahren suggested that they managed to downplay these concerns amid the pandemic. However, she now sees them subtly hinting at an alternative plan for the future.
Lahren speculated that influential figures within the party would eventually advise Biden to step aside, indicating a transition in leadership.
This conversation ensued following Ezra Klein’s editorial in The New York Times proposing alternatives to the 81-year-old incumbent and Democratic congresswoman Rashida Tlaib’s urging for “uncommitted” votes in the March presidential primary. Tlaib cited feelings of neglect and invisibility within her Palestinian-American community, particularly concerning the administration’s response to the Gaza conflict.
Jon Favreau, a former speechwriter for the Obama administration and director of “Iron Man,” expressed concerns about Biden’s age on Twitter while emphasizing the greater risk he perceives in a potential reelection of Donald Trump.
