Authorities in Florida have apprehended Davie Albarran, 51, a suspected child sex offender who was prominently featured on “America’s Most Wanted.” Albarran was sought on charges of sexual battery on a child under 12 and lewd conduct with a child under 12 in Osceola County.
He was taken into custody in Lakeland on Sunday night, as confirmed by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd on Monday. Additionally, Albarran was wanted for failing to pay child support in a separate case in Orange County, according to Sheriff Judd.
In a video shared online, Sheriff Judd remarked on Albarran’s capture, stating, “Well, he made a mistake.” He explained how the nationwide exposure from “America’s Most Wanted” led to a tip-off in Lakeland.
Acting on confidential information, law enforcement officers conducted a covert operation late Sunday night, locating Albarran in a backyard on Country Haven Drive. Despite the tranquil-sounding name of the street, it proved to be no sanctuary for Albarran.
