Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the Palestinian presidential spokesperson, criticized the United States’ involvement in the conflict between Israel and Palestine during an address at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.
He accused the U.S. of obstructing United Nations Security Council resolutions aimed at establishing a ceasefire and pointed to the deployment of U.S. aircraft carriers to the Mediterranean Sea as evidence of direct U.S. support for Israel’s military actions.
Abu Rudeineh argued that, effectively, the U.S. is conducting a war through Israel against the Palestinian people. He called on Arab and Islamic nations to apply pressure on the United States to halt its involvement and to move beyond mere verbal statements of support for Palestine.
Emphasizing the unity and resilience of the Palestinian people, Abu Rudeineh declared that Israel would never achieve victory in any conflict against them, citing their century-long struggle against occupation, their determination, and the sacredness of their cause.
The spokesperson also highlighted recent tensions in Jerusalem, particularly concerning the Israeli government’s plans to restrict access to Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan. Such actions, he noted, demand a strong response from Arab and Islamic countries to support the Palestinian people’s steadfastness.
Abu Rudeineh concluded by urging the global community to rally behind the Palestine Liberation Organization, which represents all Palestinian people, in their ongoing struggle for freedom and self-determination.
This call to action underscores the deep-seated challenges facing the region and the critical role of international solidarity in the Palestinian quest for justice and sovereignty.
