During an interview with “Meet The Press” host Kristen Welker on Sunday morning, Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat from California, offered a different perspective on the ongoing discussions surrounding President Joe Biden’s age. Rather than viewing it as a detriment, as portrayed by some Republicans, Newsom presented it as a positive attribute.
While former President Trump has frequently ridiculed Biden for his age, even sharing satirical videos on platforms like Truth Social depicting Biden being sent to a retirement home, Newsom diverged from this narrative. He praised Biden’s presidency as a “masterclass” in governance and argued that Biden’s advanced age brings valuable wisdom to his leadership, which benefits the nation.
“What he's done in three years has been a master class…it's because of his age that he's been so successful”

Reflecting on his recent experiences on the campaign trail, including observing Biden up close during his visits to California, Newsom emphasized the significance of Biden’s age in contributing to his success.
He highlighted the wisdom and character that have evolved over the years, suggesting that these qualities are assets to the country. In Newsom’s view, the prospect of Biden serving another four years in office is a gift to the American people, allowing them to continue benefiting from his experience and insights.
