The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement has squarely placed the blame for ongoing tensions in West Asia on the United States, attributing them to Washington’s support for Israel’s actions against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement made on Monday, PIJ spokesman Mohammad al-Hajj Moussa pointed to the US’s repeated vetoes of humanitarian ceasefire resolutions at the UN Security Council as evidence of its complicity in the continuation of hostilities.
Al-Hajj Moussa highlighted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempts to shift responsibility for the lack of progress in Gaza truce negotiations onto the Palestinian resistance.

However, he emphasized that the achievements of the Palestinian resistance expose Netanyahu’s falsehoods and demonstrate the movement’s resilience against Israeli aggression.
The PIJ spokesman asserted that the United States bears significant responsibility for perpetuating tensions and conflict in the region, dismissing Washington’s rhetoric about post-war governance in Gaza as hypocritical interference in Palestinian domestic affairs.
He warned of potential catastrophic consequences if the Israeli military were to launch a ground assault on the densely populated city of Rafah in southern Gaza, affirming the resilience of its residents in the face of such aggression.
The current wave of violence erupted after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against Israel in response to escalating atrocities against Palestinians.
Despite Israel’s brutal onslaught, supported by the United States, its objectives of “destroying Hamas” and securing the release of Israeli captives remain unfulfilled.
The indiscriminate violence has resulted in a staggering loss of Palestinian lives, with tens of thousands injured, predominantly women and children, underscoring the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
