General Dynamics Mission Systems’ Progeny Systems has been awarded a significant contract by the U.S. Navy, initially valued at $22.4 million, with the potential to reach $116 million with exercised options.
This contract entails engineering, technical development, and production procurement for an integrated maintenance management-decision tool system designed to be used both onboard ships and onshore.
The work under this contract will be carried out across various locations including Manassas, Virginia; Groton, Connecticut; Port Orchard, Washington; Las Vegas, Nevada; Cleveland, Ohio; Chesapeake, Virginia; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; San Diego, California; and Kings Bay, Georgia.
The expected completion date for the initial scope of work is January 2025. However, the contract work will extend through January 2029 if all options are exercised.
Laura Hooks, the Vice President and General Manager of Maritime and Strategic Systems at General Dynamics Mission Systems, highlighted Progeny Systems’ track record in providing mission readiness solutions for the Navy across shipboard networks, shore-based systems, and government cloud environments.
She emphasized that the systems developed under this contract will be crucial in assessing the readiness of individual crewmembers, watch teams, and critical ship systems across all nuclear-powered platforms.
This underscores the importance of the contract in enhancing the Navy’s operational capabilities and ensuring the effectiveness of its personnel and equipment.
