Early voting for Florida’s Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) election, as well as elections in eight different municipalities in Orange County, begins today. The early voting period in Orange County runs from March 4 to 17, with voting locations open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Flagler County’s early voting period is from March 9 to 16 at four different locations, also open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Election Day for both counties is Tuesday, March 19th.
In Flagler County, voters will decide between re-electing current Flagler Beach City Commission Chair Eric Cooley or bringing in newcomer Bob Cunningham. Mayor-elect Patti King, running unopposed, is set to replace the city’s current mayor, Suzie Johnston, on March 28.
In Orange County, the municipalities holding elections are Apopka, Eatonville, Edgewood, Maitland, Ocoee, Winter Garden, Winter Park, and Oakland. Ballots will include decisions on new mayors in Winter Park and Oakland, as well as 13 charter amendment questions in Ocoee.
Voters can find a summary of each municipal election online at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office website, which includes links to more information on each city or town’s respective races.
For those wishing to vote by mail, the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is March 7, twelve days before the election, according to the Florida Division of Elections.
Elections supervisors then have two days to get those ballots to voters. Lastly, the deadline to register to vote in time for this year’s general presidential election is October 7, 2024.
