It’s Super Tuesday, and North Carolina is one of the 15 states holding primary elections. Your vote today will have a significant impact on important races not only in our area but also across the country.
Here are some important things to keep in mind before heading to your polling place:
On Election Day, you must vote at your assigned precinct. Use the link provided to find your assigned polling place. You must bring a photo ID to cast your ballot. Acceptable forms of ID include your driver’s license, a passport, or a military ID.

Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. If you are in line by 7:30 p.m., you can vote.
If you have a mail-in ballot, you must hand-deliver it to your local board of elections office by 7:30 p.m. State law requires that mail-in ballots be received by the time polls close, rather than just postmarked on Election Day.
Remember, you cannot turn in your mail-in ballot at just any polling place; it must be returned to the board of elections office. Results may take longer to come in tonight because poll workers cannot count ballots until polls close at 7:30 p.m.
