President Biden’s reelection campaign is preparing to portray former President Trump as harboring disdain for Latinos, emphasizing economic and health care issues, with a splash of immigration.

Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez stated, “Donald Trump fundamentally does not respect Latinos; in fact, he openly despises us.”

The campaign’s strategy includes highlighting Trump’s actions and rhetoric toward the Hispanic community, focusing on issues such as Dreamers, family separations, and the economy. They plan to counter Trump’s efforts to drive a wedge within the Hispanic community by emphasizing unity and shared concerns.

The campaign also intends to remind voters of Trump’s efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and his budget proposals, which included cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

They will contrast Hispanic unemployment rates under Trump and Biden, highlighting the progress made under the current administration.

The Biden team will also target Trump’s policies on abortion, social services, and immigration restrictionism, aiming to paint a picture of Trump as damaging to Latino families. They will use Trump’s past statements and policies to illustrate what they see as his disregard for the Hispanic community’s interests.

On the other hand, Trump’s campaign is focusing on attacking Biden’s record on inflation, open borders, crime, and chaos. They cite polling data showing Trump leading in key battleground states and with Hispanic Americans, attributing this to dissatisfaction with Biden’s performance.

As both campaigns gear up for a tough election battle, the Biden campaign’s strategy seeks to reverse Trump’s gains among Hispanic voters from 2016 to 2020.

Chavez Rodriguez will play a key role in connecting Trump’s words and actions to the concerns of the Hispanic community, framing the election as a choice between two starkly different visions for America.
