Stephanie Grisham, the former White House press secretary under Donald Trump, offered insights into how the former president might react if New York Attorney General Letitia James proceeds with her threat to seize his properties.
In an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Grisham speculated on Trump’s potential response to such a move, highlighting specific properties that would significantly impact him.
Grisham suggested that Trump would be particularly affected if James targeted properties such as 40 Wall Street, Mar-a-Lago, Bedminster, or Trump Tower.
“I think if it were to happen, 40 Wall Street is probably the one that he would hate. But I think if she tried to seize Mar-a-Lago, Bedminster, or Trump Tower, even, I mean, those are his babies,” she remarked.
Highlighting the emotional attachment Trump has to properties like Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster, Grisham emphasized the potential devastation such a seizure could have on him.
Additionally, she noted the significance of properties with golf courses, such as the Sterling golf course in Virginia, in Trump’s portfolio, suggesting that their seizure would also deeply impact him.
Grisham acknowledged the potential psychological toll such a scenario could take on Trump and his family, especially if he fails to pay the $464 million in damages from his civil fraud case or secure the bond required for an appeal. She described this situation as one that would be “very, very hard on his ego” and would similarly “hurt their egos.”
In her assessment, Grisham underscored the personal and emotional significance that Trump attaches to his properties, suggesting that any attempt to seize them would have financial ramifications and profoundly affect him personally.
As the legal battle between Trump and the New York Attorney General unfolds, Grisham’s remarks provide insight into the potential emotional stakes for the former president and his family.
