Alex Pfeiffer, the communications director at the pro-Trump super PAC MAGA Inc., received recognition from Breitbart News for his analytical mindset and factual approach in his prior career in right-wing journalism.

However, revelations from private messages show a different perspective, where Pfeiffer privately criticized Donald Trump and his supporters, particularly in the aftermath of the January 6 insurrection.

While serving as a producer for Fox News’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, Pfeiffer expressed disdain for Trump, describing him as responsible for the events of January 6 and labelling his supporters as “terrorists, but especially dumb ones.” These comments starkly contrast with the public image projected by Pfeiffer and his role in right-wing media.

The disclosure of private messages as part of Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation suit against Fox News revealed Pfeiffer’s candid assessments of critical figures and events.

He referred to Sidney Powell, a Trump lawyer spreading conspiracy theories about Dominion, as “a fucking nutcase”. He criticized attempts to negotiate with Trump supporters who believed in election denial conspiracy theories as akin to “negotiating with terrorists.”

Of particular significance were Pfeiffer’s messages to Tucker Carlson during the January 6 broadcast, where he directly blamed Trump for the violence that erupted at the Capitol.

Pfeiffer argued that Trump’s rhetoric of a stolen election was the root cause of the unrest, dismissing attempts to blame external factors like Antifa infiltrators.

These private messages offer a glimpse into the internal dynamics at Fox News and the personal beliefs of its staff members, which often diverge from the network’s public narrative.

Pfeiffer’s remarks underscore the complexity of navigating the intersection between political allegiance, journalistic integrity, and personal convictions in today’s media landscape.
