On Wednesday, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vương Đình Huệ reiterated Việt Nam’s profound regard for the United States as its most significant partner, particularly in economic and trade realms.
In a meeting with the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) in Hà Nội, he conveyed appreciation for the US’s unwavering support towards ensuring Việt Nam’s strength, independence, and prosperity.
Chairman Huệ underscored Việt Nam’s readiness to cultivate a comprehensive strategic partnership with the US grounded in mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political institutions.
He emphasized Việt Nam’s commitment to fostering cooperation with the US across bilateral, regional, and global spheres, founded on mutual understanding and trust.
Highlighting Việt Nam’s strategic objectives, Chairman Huệ outlined priorities, including infrastructure and human resources development breakthroughs, advancements in science and technology, digital and green transformation, sustainable development, and climate change mitigation.
He expressed satisfaction and optimism over the growing interest of major US businesses and corporations in Việt Nam as a strategic market aligned with the country’s development agenda.
Chairman Huệ recognized US companies contributing to Việt Nam’s carbon emission reduction efforts and climate change initiatives and their endeavors in fostering human resource development and constructing low-carbon industrial zones.
The Chairman lauded the US Government’s commitment to evaluating Việt Nam’s market economy status, deeming it a significant step that reflects the US’s dedication to realizing both nations’ shared visions and strategic goals.
He emphasized that expeditious action in this regard would enhance mutual trust, pave the way for comprehensive cooperation across various sectors, and deliver tangible benefits to both nations’ businesses and citizens.
Chairman Huệ reiterated the Vietnamese NA’s staunch support for fostering Việt Nam-US relations and its commitment to fostering a conducive, transparent legal and policy framework for foreign businesses, including US businesses, to operate and expand in Việt Nam.
He affirmed the NA’s receptiveness to the feedback, concerns, and aspirations of the business community, including US enterprises, in shaping Việt Nam’s policies and legislation.
Chairman Huệ urged the USABC and its members to engage in regular discussions and offer recommendations to the Vietnamese NA and Government to enhance the business investment environment, thereby bolstering national competitiveness and fostering opportunities for business growth.
Chairman Huệ encouraged US businesses to augment their investment and collaboration with domestic counterparts across various sectors, including green transformation, clean energy, transportation infrastructure, digital economy, technology, healthcare, manufacturing, finance, logistics, and human resource development.
He called upon US enterprises to prioritize research, innovation, and financial support for start-ups and projects utilizing modern technologies, fostering mutual benefits and high competitiveness for both parties.
