We’re getting closer to making things better in Gaza. The United Nations wants the fighting to stop now, especially during Ramadan. They also wish for all captured people to be accessible without any conditions. The war in Gaza has caused a lot of deaths and hunger. Many people there don’t have enough food to eat.

Hamas started the fighting by attacking Israel in October. Many people died because of this. Hamas also took some Israelis as captives and still has some of them. They also have the bodies of some Israelis who died. Most others were let go last year when there was a break in the fighting.

CAFOD, a charity group, says Gaza is a very dangerous place. It’s been bombed a lot for nearly six months. Even places like churches, hospitals, and schools are not safe anymore.

CAFOD is happy that the United Nations wants to stop the fighting and free the captives. They say it’s important for people to keep putting pressure on governments to ensure they do what they promised.

The British government is helping by dropping food from airplanes for the first time. They want to help even more to reduce the suffering of the people in Gaza. But the fighting hasn’t stopped yet. Israel bombed a city in Gaza, and there were gunfights in other cities, too.

CAFOD says the British government needs to do more to help the people in Gaza. They say the government should make sure organizations like UNRWA get enough money to support Palestinians. UNRWA is the leading group helping people in Gaza.

Despite all the problems, CAFOD’s partners in Gaza are still working hard to help people. They’re giving out food, water, tents, and other things people need. They’re also helping kids who are having a hard time because of the fighting.

CAFOD wants the fighting to stop now. They say a ceasefire is the only way to stop more people from dying and to free the captives. Then, they say, people can start working on making peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
