ISIS has reportedly issued a call for “lone wolves” to target Christians and Jews worldwide during the Ramadan holiday, as per a report by British news outlet Mirror. The organization’s spokesperson, Abu Hudhayfah al-Ansari, praised a recent terror attack near Moscow and urged individuals on Telegram to carry out attacks, particularly in the US, Europe, and Israel, during Ramadan.
Al-Ansari, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the ISIS caliphate declaration, warned of more attacks, particularly against American troops in Iraq. In a 41-minute audio speech, he lauded the global expansion of ISIS and criticized al-Qaeda for deviating from its original path.
This signals a concerning escalation in ISIS activities, with calls for increased attacks in Mozambique and the relocation of operations to major cities in the Philippines.
The spokesperson emphasized obedience to elders and the dissemination of ISIS’s ideology, urging Mujahidin to follow their leaders’ orders. Despite assuming the role of spokesperson in August 2023, little was known about al-Ansari until his recent antisemitic rhetoric came to light.
He reiterated ISIS’s goal of monotheism through Jihad, rejecting proposed solutions to the conflict with Jewish people and suggesting that the religious and ideological war will persist.
According to Mirror’s report, al-Ansari asserted that the conflict with Jewish people is rooted in religious ideology and will not end through current diplomatic efforts. He outlined various methods of mass murder as part of the ongoing struggle, underscoring the persistent threat posed by ISIS to communities globally.
