Hillary Clinton, the former presidential candidate and first lady, didn’t hold back her thoughts on the upcoming presidential election during her appearance on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.”
In the recent episode, Fallon queried Clinton about the brewing rematch between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump scheduled for Nov. 5.
Responding with her trademark wit, the former first lady quipped, “Let’s stick with the Easter Bunny?”
But Fallon persisted, asking, “I mean, it’s Biden versus Trump. What do you say to voters who are upset that those are the two choices?”
Clinton’s response was direct: “Get over yourself. Those are the two choices… It’s kind of like, one is old and effective and compassionate, has a heart, and really cares about people. And one is old and has been charged with 91 felonies.”
Despite polling indicating another tight race, with margins coming down to mere percentage points, Clinton expressed bewilderment at the difficulty some face in making their choice. “I don’t understand why this is even a hard choice,” she remarked.
Acknowledging the necessity of going through the election process, Clinton emphasized the importance of voters recognizing the stakes involved. “Because it’s an existential question: What kind of country we’re going to have, what kind of democracy we’re going to have,” she elaborated.
In her view, Trump and his supporters have made their intentions clear regarding the direction of the country. She concluded her remarks with a call to action: “Get out there and vote.”
