Morgan Wallen Arrested in Nashville for Alleged Chair-Throwing Incident

Country music artist Morgan Wallen, aged 30, was arrested in Nashville on felony charges following an incident where he allegedly threw a chair from a downtown rooftop without a legitimate reason, as stated by the Metro Nashville Police Department. Wallen faced three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct related to the late Sunday night occurrence.

According to an arrest affidavit, police officers witnessed a chair falling from above Chief’s Bar in the entertainment district, narrowly missing them. The bar’s staff confirmed Wallen as the culprit, with video footage depicting him throwing the object off the six-story building. Witnesses reported seeing Wallen laughing after the act.

Wallen was arrested on reckless endangerment charges due to the presence of officers in the area, which posed a risk to the public. Additionally, he faced disorderly conduct charges as his actions were deemed to have created a hazardous situation without any legitimate purpose.

Records from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office indicated Wallen’s release from jail in the early hours of the morning after posting a bond of $15,250. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Wallen’s lawyer, Worrick Robinson, confirmed the arrest and stated that Wallen is cooperating fully with authorities, as reported to USA TODAY.

This incident is not the first time Wallen has faced controversy. In February 2021, he apologized after a video surfaced showing him using a racial slur in Nashville, which led to significant backlash within the music industry. Wallen later addressed the incident in a video on YouTube, expressing remorse for letting down those close to him and acknowledging his mistake.

Despite the controversy, Wallen continues to pursue his music career. In February, he announced plans to open a six-story bar along Lower Broadway in Nashville, named “This Bar,” after one of his songs. Wallen’s roots trace back to Sneedville, Tennessee, and he remains a prominent figure in the country music scene.

The recent arrest adds to Wallen’s public image challenges, highlighting the ongoing scrutiny he faces. However, his lawyer’s statement suggests a willingness to address the situation responsibly, indicating Wallen’s commitment to resolving legal matters and moving forward with his career.
