Texas Governor Greg Abbott asserted in an interview with Newsmax on Friday that individuals on the terrorist watchlist are paying extra fees to avoid apprehension when crossing the United States border.
Speaking on “Greg Kelly Reports” in New York City, Abbott highlighted the pressing issue of illegal immigration under President Joe Biden’s administration, emphasizing the national security risks posed by unidentified individuals on the watchlist entering the country.

Abbott expressed concern over the escalating number of known terrorists entering the country through the porous borders, pointing out the lack of clarity regarding the extent of this threat.
He underscored the alarming reality that individuals with terrorist ties are willing to pay additional sums to evade detection, raising questions about the effectiveness of border security measures.
Drawing attention to remarks made by FBI Director Christopher Wray regarding the potential for a 9/11-style terrorist attack facilitated by border crossings, Abbott criticized President Biden for failing in his primary responsibility of ensuring national security.
When asked about the reasons behind Biden’s perceived failure to enforce border control, Abbott attributed it partially to pressure from left-wing factions within the Democratic Party, including figures like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He noted a recent poll indicating a percentage of Democrats advocating for the elimination of national borders, suggesting that Biden may be catering to this progressive segment of the party.

Abbott also highlighted the political implications of population census data, emphasizing that congressional representation and Electoral College votes are based on total residents rather than just citizens.
He pointed out that while states like Texas are experiencing an influx of residents, including those fleeing states like California and New York, illegal immigrants settling in these states contribute to maintaining their political influence in terms of congressional seats and electoral votes.
