During a Newsmax interview, Rep. Jeff Van Drew expressed strong criticism of President Joe Biden’s administration, labeling the President as a “threat to democracy” and “the worst president in modern history.”
Van Drew, a Republican from New Jersey, articulated his concerns about Biden’s foreign policy decisions, explicitly pointing to the withdrawal from Afghanistan as “needless” and “stupid,” asserting it showcased American weakness. He also criticized Biden’s approach to Israel and the ongoing conflict with Hamas, arguing for more robust support from the U.S.
Van Drew highlighted global challenges, including tensions with China and instability in the Middle East, as areas where he believes Biden’s leadership has faltered. He also touched on the war in Ukraine, suggesting that former President Donald Trump‘s more direct approach to Russia had prevented further aggression during his tenure.
According to Van Drew, Biden’s signals of weakness endanger U.S. alliances. They could potentially lead to a broader conflict, especially with discussions around Ukraine joining NATO, which he views as dangerously provocative.
Domestically, Van Drew voiced concerns about discussions on the future of Social Security and Medicare, urban stability, food prices, and homeownership affordability. He framed his critique as beyond partisan politics, positioning it as a matter of national salvation rather than a Republican versus Democrat issue.
