Seraphim and JA Solar are embarking on significant solar panel manufacturing ventures in China. Seraphim plans to construct a 10 GW solar panel factory in Guangzhou, with an investment of CNY 6 billion.
The project, undertaken in collaboration with the city of Guangzhou, will be executed in two phases, with trial production slated to begin in December 2025 and full-scale production in 2026.
Meanwhile, JA Solar is set to establish a 5 GW panel factory in Inner Mongolia in partnership with the Bayannur municipal government and China Huadian Group. This joint venture entails a planned investment of CNY 1.4 billion and aims to develop a solar panel production workshop and associated facilities.
In related news, TBEA, a major player in the renewable energy sector, reported operating revenue of CNY 98.12 billion in 2023, marking a slight increase of 1.79% from the previous year. However, its net profit declined by 38.42% to CNY 14.09 billion. TBEA completed approximately 2.19 GW of wind farms and PV projects, achieving a total operational capacity of 3.41 GW from grid-connected power stations.
