When it comes to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, there’s a prevailing misconception in some foreign governments: the idea that if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were replaced, the Israeli government’s approach toward Hamas would shift seriously. However, speaking on Newsmax, former Israeli diplomat Shahar Azani dispels this notion.

According to Azani, removing Netanyahu wouldn’t change the Israeli government’s stance or actions regarding Hamas. Whether Netanyahu or someone else leads Israel, the country’s commitment to countering Hamas terrorism remains steadfast.

Azani emphasizes that the Israeli people demand the eradication of the threat posed by Hamas, regardless of who occupies the prime minister’s office.

Azani’s remarks come in response to a meeting between Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid in Washington. During the meeting, Blinken and Lapid discussed the importance of resolving the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Azani also addressed the ongoing captivity of Israeli hostages held by Hamas for over six months. He expressed concern that international pressure on Israel might inadvertently embolden Hamas, leading them to believe that they can achieve their objectives through continued hostage-taking.

Azani’s insights shed light on the complications of the Israel-Hamas conflict and underscore the challenges in finding a resolution that ensures the security and well-being of all parties involved.
