According to a recent poll conducted by Axis and Ipsos, President Joe Biden’s favorability among Latinos has declined over the past year, while former President Donald Trump’s has increased.
The survey, which Ipsos has been conducting regularly since 2021, reveals a drop in Biden’s favorability among Latinos and Vice President Kamala Harris’s favorability following a period of relative stability.

In March 2024, only 41% of Latinos reported having a favorable opinion of Biden, down from 47% in June 2023 and October 2022. Similarly, Harris’ favorability rating among Latinos decreased to 39% in March 2024, compared to 42% in June 2023 and October 2022.
Trump’s favorability among Latinos has been on the rise, rising from 27% in October 2022 to 29% in June 2023 and 32% in March 2024. Interestingly, Trump’s latest rating surpasses those of prominent political figures such as California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom (27%), Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis (31%), and Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott (27%).

The poll also highlights the top concerns among Latinos, with the majority (53%) expressing worry about inflation and the cost of living, followed by fears of crime or gun violence (34%) and immigration (28%).
Conducted in partnership with Telemundo US, the Axios/Ipsos survey interviewed 1,012 Latinos across the United States from March 22 to 28. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.6 percentage points.
