Former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker expressed grave concerns about the millions of migrants illegally crossing the U.S. border, warning that among them are terrorists on the U.S. watch list, which could lead to a catastrophic situation.
Speaking on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America,” Whitaker emphasized the challenges in keeping track of such a large number of undocumented individuals and highlighted the serious security risks posed by this situation.
According to Whitaker, reports indicate that hundreds of individuals on the terrorist watch list have attempted to enter the country illegally, with millions of others managing to evade detection.
He characterized this scenario as a “powder keg” waiting to explode, stressing that it’s not a matter of if but when such an event will occur.
Highlighting recent terrorist attacks and the FBI’s warning about vulnerabilities in the U.S., Whitaker underscored the urgency of protecting the nation both domestically and internationally. He expressed fear about the intentions of radical Islamist terrorists and emphasized the importance of strengthening security measures at places where people gather.
In terms of citizen responsibility, Whitaker emphasized the need for heightened vigilance and awareness of one’s surroundings. He stressed that safeguarding the nation is not solely the responsibility of law enforcement but also requires active participation from every citizen.
Turning to the topic of cameras in the courtroom, Whitaker advocated for transparency, suggesting that all of former President Donald Trump’s upcoming trials, including a criminal trial starting Monday, should be televised.
He argued that increased visibility into legal proceedings would allow the public to better understand the evidence presented and the legal arguments made.
Whitaker’s remarks underscored the gravity of the security threats posed by illegal immigration and terrorism, as well as the importance of transparency in legal proceedings to ensure public trust and understanding.
