The Michigan Democratic Party has reserved a substantial $10.5 million for ad reservations to support state House candidates in the upcoming November elections.
The party has allocated $2.5 million each for Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Detroit, while Marquette will receive $1 million. Additionally, $700,000 will be spent on ads in Traverse City and the South Bend, Indiana market, and $900,000 in Flint.
This ad reservation is in addition to the nearly $8 million that Michigan House Democrats have already spent on reservations in the Detroit media market.
The news comes on the heels of Michigan Democrats regaining control of the state House, securing a majority after two Democratic lawmakers left their seats to pursue mayoral roles. The state House was previously tied at 54-54.
Michigan Democrats have recently experienced a successful streak, winning competitive races for governor, Senate, and House. However, both parties will face another test in the state during the November presidential election.
According to The Hill’s Decision Desk HQ polling average, former President Trump is leading President Biden in Michigan with 46.7% to 43.4%.
